LIFE ON LAKE WINNI

ALL SEASON FUN

Live, Love, Lake!

Come and enjoy all the outdoor activities Lake Winnipesaukee has to offer.  There is something for everyone to do around the Lake.  Take a hike or bike ride on one of the many trails around the region.   See all the sites around the lake by boat, kayak, canoe or jet ski.

Spend a day of family fun at Weirs Beach, which is located just 3.5 miles down the road.  The boardwalk runs the full length of the beach with gorgeous views of the lake and mountains.  There is no shortage of activities at Weirs Beach including penny arcades, eateries, shopping and there is plenty of parking.  Take a one or two-hour excursion along the western shore of Lake Winnipesauke aboard the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad in their restored vintage coaches.

Take a beautiful cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee on the M/S Mount Washington, which offers afternoon sightseeing cruises or dinner/dance cruises.  For the concertgoers, there are concerts just about every weekend at the Bank of NH Pavilion, a 9,000 seat amphitheater just minutes away!

Autumn is in the Air

You will not want to miss the spectacular scenery in the Lakes Region during fall foliage!  There is a 115-mile scenic drive loop that leads you through the foliage.  The Zip Line at Gunstock Mountain Resort is a fabulous way to experience the foliage. Take a drive up to Castle in the Clouds and stop at the waterfall and scenic overlooks to take in the amazing autumn colors!  If you prefer seeing the colors from the water, take a tour on the M/S Mount Washington or the Winnipesaukee Belle.

The Pumpkin Festival in Laconia is a must-see!  Laconia’s Pumpkin Festival is a Guinness World record holder for “most Jack-o-lanterns in One Place at One Time.”  Bring along your carved pumpkin to take part in achieving another world record!  There is music, kiddie rides, food, bungee jump, games, horse-drawn hayrides, great food and a riverside duck derby!  There are over 60 food and craft vendors, live bands, and pumpkin bowling.  You will not want to miss the 34’ Tower of Jack-o-Lanterns!   Admission is free!

The Lakes Region is the perfect place to hit the slopes!  Whether it is downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding or tubing, you’ll want to check out Gunstock Mountain Resort!  Gunstock has 22 trails for all skill levels.  The views from the top of the mountain are spectacular!

For the snowmobiling enthusiasts, there are 50 miles of interconnected trails in the Bear Notch snowmobile trail system!  Several of the trails will lead to you to great dining and shopping!

Spring Ahead

As the snow begins to melt and the air turns warmer, spring in the Lakes Region is a great time to take a tour of one of several local distilleries, breweries or wineries.

The Mills Falls Annual Memorial Day Weekend Craft Fair is always a big hit!  Craftsmen from all over New England participate in the fair selling jewelry, scarves, pottery, wood carvings, and so many wonderful items.

Beans and Greens Farm Stand is a wonderful place to experience.  Not only do they offer locally grown produce, but they also have wonderful bakery items as well.  The blueberry pie is one of our favorites!   The kids can enjoy the barnyard animals that are born right on the farm, play in the sand, or take a ride on the swings.
